It is the only confirmed Blue Sky production to use that software, as CGI Studio was being phased out. Animator Michael Knapp noted that this required remodeling Scrat with new fur, materials, and rigging. The COVID-19 pandemic forced animators to work remotely. Knapp also mentioned that the team was aware of *The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild* being made without the studio’s involvement around the same time.
Batu Sener composed the score, with John Powell writing the end titles. Sener also worked on the score for *The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild* (2022), while Powell had composed for earlier Ice Age films. The soundtrack was released by Hollywood Records on March 25, 2022.
The series debuted as a Disney+ original on April 13, 2022. It was the last Blue Sky Studios production released by 20th Century Studios after Blue Sky closed on April 10, 2021, and it is the only television series the studio ever produced.
On the same release date, a former Blue Sky employee uploaded an unlisted YouTube video titled “The End” under the account name Finale.
