Lamput is an Indian animated series of shorts created by Vaibhav Kumaresh and produced by his studio for Cartoon Network India and Asia. The show centers on a gooey, orange creature who flees a lab and is pursued by two scientists, Specs and Skinny. Episodes range from 18 seconds to 3–5 minutes, with some 7-minute specials and three 11-minute specials in the fourth season. The main character, Lamput, can shapeshift, which helps him evade capture. Supporting characters include a yellow-skinned police officer named Mr. Moustache, a pink-skinned doctor, a light-blue-skinned citizen called Droopy, the scientists’ gray-skinned boss, a white-skinned woman named Ms. Lipstick, and a thief. The series was the first Indian show sold from a pitch bible to air globally. The first season consisted of 18-second micro-shorts; the second season extended episodes to two minutes, and the third season ran 3–5 minutes with some 7-minute specials. A crossover with Chinese internet character Tuzki was announced in April 2021, along with a fourth season. The show airs on Cartoon Network in EMEA and Latin America, and on Boomerang worldwide. In the United States, it broadcasts on Cartoon Network and streams on HBO Max (added April 28, 2022) and Hulu (added September 13, 2024). It also aired on Boomerang from August 15 to August 26, 2022. Critical reception has been mostly positive; Cartoon Brew praised its animation timing and design, while Common Sense Media rated it three stars, calling it silly slapstick with some violence, comparable to Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry.
